Open-water swimming is a different discipline from lap swimming — mentally as much as physically. The absence of a lane rope, the varying conditions, the need to navigate and sight: these demand a specific kind of preparation that most pools cannot offer.
The Open Water Prep programme at Happy Waves bridges that gap. Built for triathletes and distance swimmers preparing for events, it combines high-volume lap training with technique drills designed specifically for open-water conditions.
Sessions are available morning and evening throughout October, with batch sizes capped at six to allow for personalised coaching. Participants leave with improved stamina, stronger open-water confidence, and a structured training plan to carry forward.
