Independence Day at Happy Waves has its own rhythm now. The pool opens early, the gates stay wide, every child under 12 swims free. This year: tricolor floats across the water, Vande Mataram playing at sunrise, a small flag-hoisting by the poolside at 8 AM.

Families arrived in waves throughout the morning. Some came for the open swim; others came for the rare occasion of seeing their pool transformed into something festive and communal. A group of senior members who had been coming to Happy Waves since opening swam their morning laps as usual — undeterred, and somehow more impressive for it.

The afternoon saw kids' relay races with tricolor ribbons for the winners. No rankings, no pressure — just the joy of racing your friends on a national holiday while your parents watched from the sun loungers.

Independence Day reminds us why we built Happy Waves: not just as a place to swim, but as a place where Agra's families can share moments. A pool, when it's done right, is a community space. On 15th August, we felt that fully.
